latency.
Your thoughts are yours

Privacy, in plain language.

Latency is designed as a private space. Your journal is stored locally in the app or browser, and Latency does not transmit it to Latency-operated servers.

What stays on your device

Worries, predictions, reflections, Moments, intentions, settings, and photos are kept in local app or browser storage. Version 1.0 has no account, journal sync, advertising, analytics, crash-reporting service, or AI service. The native app bundles its interface and works without loading the website.

Photos

When you choose a photo, Latency processes it on your device. It creates a smaller JPEG copy and strips embedded metadata such as location before saving that copy. Your original remains in your photo library.

Exports

Export happens only when you ask. The resulting JSON file is readable and unencrypted and may contain your words and photos. Your browser download controls or device share sheet determine where that copy goes. Latency does not receive it.

Retention and deletion

Your journal remains in local app or browser storage until you delete it, clear that storage, or the browser or operating system removes it. Browser storage can also be lost through private browsing, storage eviction, profile changes, or device loss. Where an in-app Delete action is available, it removes that record and its stored attachment from the current local journal. Deleting the iOS app, rather than offloading it, removes its local app data; clearing site data removes the web journal for that browser profile. Exports, device backups, and copies you share are separate and must be deleted through the relevant device or service. Latency has no Latency-operated server copy and cannot recover a deleted journal. The sample garden uses separate local storage and does not read or change your personal journal.

The public website

The public website is hosted through OpenAI Sites. Its hosting and infrastructure providers may process standard request information, such as IP address, requested URL, browser details, request time, and security signals, to deliver and protect the site. The website includes no advertising trackers, product analytics, support form, or journal-upload endpoint. Its code does not include journal content in hosting requests.

Support messages

If you email support, Google provides the support mailbox, and Google, your email provider, and email transit providers process the address, message, and technical details you choose to send. We use that information only to reply, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, and keep records required for security or legal obligations. Ordinary support conversations are deleted from the active support mailbox within 12 months after the last response. They may be kept longer while an issue, security investigation, or legal obligation remains active, and provider backup copies may remain temporarily under the provider’s retention practices. You may request deletion by emailing yosephkantorovich@gmail.com; we will delete the conversation from the active mailbox unless one of those limited exceptions applies. Do not send journal text or sensitive photos.

Children

Latency is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 sent personal information in a support message, contact us so we can delete it.

Changes and contact

Latency is operated by Yoseph Kantorovich. Privacy questions and deletion requests may be sent to yosephkantorovich@gmail.com. If this policy changes, we will post the revised policy and effective date here. If a change affects the app’s data practices, we will update the App Store privacy details and provide any notice or consent required before the new practice begins.
